I have toys coming out of my ears. I'm not kidding you, with a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old in residence, I'm lucky if I can make it across four feet of floor without stepping on or tripping on a toy. I try and try to get rid of them, but it's harder done than said … wait, I mean, easier said than done. For starters, my kids act like they are about to lose a dear loved one when I suggest getting rid of something even if they no longer play with it and the other thing is that a lot of places that accept donations of used items, do not accept toys. I have to do something with these toys though and I may have found a way to get them out of my way without making my kids go into mourning.

Here are five ways to repurpose old toys that you and your kids will love.
One of a kind mirror

I think this is such a clever idea. It looks great and my kids would love to have a mirror like this.
Unique lamp

This lamp would go so well with the mirror. I see a whole decor theme emerging.
Wall art

All I can say about this is, I'm totally going to do this!
Utensil holder

From now on, every time I step on a stray Lego, I am putting it away to build myself a utensil holder. So cute!
Refrigerator magnets

This is a very useful way to reuse the smaller toys or leftover bits of long-gone sets.
