Jairam Singhal suffers from diabetes, a disease common among many. But what's not common (or even normal) is the method he's using to treat it. You're not going to believe it, but this man actually drinks cow urine every SINGLE day. He believes that it's helped regulate his condition. I'm sorry, but just the thought of this is making my stomach turn!

"I had diabetes, but ever since I have started drinking cow urine, my diabetes levels have been under control," he told the Mirror. "Someone told me drinking cow urine is good for health. We have had cows here for 12 years now, so first thing in the morning we take cow urine and drink it."
That's right, Jairam isn't the only one practicing this repulsive act. Apparently cow urine drinking has become popular in his hometown Agra, India. In fact, most people swear by it to cure diseases–including cancer. Because they view the cow as a holy animal, they believe that its urine contains divine healing properties.
"Just a few years ago, there would hardly be anyone interested in taking cow urine from our shelter," he's quoted saying in the U.K.'s Daily Mail." But today lots of people come to our cow shelter. There are cancer patients sometimes–they want to see the benefits of cow urine."
I'm not one to question whether or not these strange practices actually work for these people, but as of now, there's no proof that drinking urine actually cures cancer or any other diseases for that matter. Back in 2008 the American Cancer Society said that "the available scientific evidence does not support claims that urine or urea given in any forms is helpful for cancer patients." Could these folks be drinking cow pee for nothing?
Jairam insists that his condition has actually improved since drinking cow urine.
As gross as this all sounds to me, I'm not judging. I can barely tolerate the smell of human urine (one of the reasons why I hate public bathrooms) but at the same time I understand the desperation to finding a cure. I experienced unexplainable pains throughout my body practically on a daily basis and have tried everything under the sun. So believe me–I know how it feels to be desperate for some relief. Heck if I had cancer and heard that cow urine could cure it, you'd bet I'd be drinking a full glass EVERY day!
