While most of us were getting ready to hang out with family, enjoy the holiday season, and perhaps indulge a little too much in good food and drink, Nicia McNelly from Keystone Heights, Florida was recuperating at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Don't worry, she wasn't in the hospital for something terrible, she was there because on Friday, December 20 she underwent a scheduled C-section. All went well and she gave birth to a baby boy named Isaiah Lawrence Johnson and while all babies are a blessing, this baby is a bigger blessing than most. You are not going to believe the size of this newborn. Oh yeah, he's a biggie!

Isaiah came into the world weighing 14 pounds and 7.6 ounces and measuring 22.5 inches long. That is one BIG baby. So big in fact that he is the second biggest baby to be born in Florida this year and one of the biggest babies ever born at UF Health Shands Hospital.
I'm happy to inform you that both mother and child are doing well. Even though Isaiah was born so large, he has no health issues to worry about at the moment. Yay!
Both Isaiah's mother and father had no idea that he would be born so large. They were thinking 10 to 12 pounds at the most. Now they are both hoping that Isaiah has a future in football. Who knows? I hope he grows up to be happy and healthy, but I have to say he does already resemble a football player. He's stout, to say the least.
