My body really doesn't react well to cold weather. Like it REALLY doesn't! It poses a problem not just for my skin, but for my hair too. The dry air and low temps leaves my strands brittle and weak, making them prone to breakage. So how does a girl get her hair looking shiny and glossy all winter long?

Moisture Moisture Moisture!
Give your hair some extra TLC by applying a deep-conditioning treatment, like the Kerastase Nutri-Thermique ($62) at least once a week. This will help repair and strengthen strands, preventing further breakage.
Treat dry scalp
To help combat a dry, itchy scalp, try rubbing tea tree oil to your scalp before every wash. I recommend the WEN Tea Tree Oil Cleansing Conditioner ($30). It treats dandruff while also deeply moisturizing your hair.
Rinse with cold water
I know how tempting it is to shower with hot water, but it’s actually really bad for your hair. I suggest washing hair with lukewarm temperatures and before getting out of the shower, try rinsing your strands with cold water. This will help lock in moisture and shine.
Use hair oil
I keep my hair shiny during the colder months by massaging my strands from roots to ends with coconut oil the night before washing. Try Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil ($15). The purer the better!
Do a shine treatment
Try a shine-enhancing hair treatment, like Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging 3-Minute Shine Boost ($26). It also helps recharge a faded hair color too!
