5 Easy tips to lose the weight & reclaim your sexy NOW!

Mujeres:

As a Latina mom for 20 years, I know firsthand what it's like to feel like there simply aren't enough hours in a day to get things done. You've been given an impossible job, my fellow mamis: You have to run around with your kids, work long hours outside of the home, tend to your significant other's needs, cook, clean, check homework, buy groceries and try to keep your house in order.

But with SUCH a busy schedule, when do YOU have time to work out?

The answer, of course, is that most moms don't. But I can help! For this week's Mami Makeover, I'd like to share a few simple (but awesome!) weight loss tips that will help all of my fellow mami's out there shed excess baby weight and get you on track to being the "old" you! These tips have definitely worked for me in the past …

So go ahead: Reclaim your figure and bring your sexy back!

1.Make time. It's simple: Make time for exercise. Yes, you are super busy, but you're going to have to schedule your workouts and stick with it! If you have time to Facebook, Tweet, watch TV, etc., then you have time to work out!

2. Dump the scale. I don't even look at the scale–I dropped that habit years ago. Looking at the scale does nothing but frustrate me! The number on the scale isn't your value or your SELF WORTH. Use your clothes to appreciate the inches that you have lost as you get your body right!

3. Let's be positive. Believe it or not, every day is hard for me … but I do it. I like when people tell me I look good. That is actually my motivation and confirmation that I can't give up. The positive comments help me to not be negative. When people notice your hard work, you automatically feel good and know you are doing something right! So stay positive, even when you want to give up.  You are closer than you think.

4. Keep a journal. I recommend that you track your day-to-day meals and exercise in order to know your progress. Don't start complaining, it isn't that much work to jot down what you ate. If you have a smart phone or tablet, there is definitely an app for this. Instead of logging on to Candy Crush, log on to that app and jot down what you ate today. I always use My Fitness Pal.

5. Please be patient and take this one-day at a time. Remember, getting in shape will not happen overnight, but you can do it! I believe in you … now all you have to do is believe in yourself.

Love you, chicas!
