If you have curly hair natural beauty remedies are probably the best way to go girl! In fact, a TON of my friends prefer DIY treatments over regular hair products because they find it leaves their rizos a lot healthier and smoother. The trick to using beauty remedies on your curls is looking for ultra-moisturizing ingredients like coconut oil, aloe vera, shea butter, and avocado that are going to keep your dry-prone locks nourished and hydrated. Here are a few curly hair recipes I highly recommend!

Shampoo

A DIY honey shampoo deeply cleanses, reduces frizz, moisturizes, and leaves hair super soft! Simply mix 1 tablespoon of raw honey, 3 tablespoons of filtered water, and a few drops of lavender or rosemary oil in a small bowl to add fragrance.
Conditioner

Shea butter does wonders on curly hair, which is why you absolutely want to put it in your conditioner. All you have to do is mix up 2 tablespoons of shea butter, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 8 drops of honey, 5 drops of tea tree oil, 3 drops of eucalyptus oil, and 2 drops of peppermint oil in a small bowl. Apply to clean, damp hair from root to ends. Leave on for 15-20 minutes then rinse out and style as usual.
Hair mask

I've been treating my hair with all-natural avocado hair masks for years. It's perfect for dry or damaged curls. Try mixing 1 ripe avocado with 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of honey in a small bowl. Whip up all the ingredients using an egg beater until it makes a creamy consistency and then apply it all throughout your hair. Leaveit on for 10-15 minutes then rinse out.
Gel

Most hair gels contain alcohol which leaves hair incredibly dry. For a healthier fix, try making your own curly gel using flaxseeds. Combine 1 cup of water with 1/4 cup of flaxseeds. Heat it up in a sauce pan over the stove and then let it cool in the fridge for a few hours. Once it's cold and has formulated into a gel-like consistency you can use it to style.
Curl cream

If curl creams and leave-ins are more your style, combine 8 oz. of raw natural shea butter with 4 oz. of coconut oil, 1/2 cup of aloe vera gel, 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil, and 1 tablespoon of castor oil. Apply to clean, dampy hair for beautiful bouncy curls!
