There's a reason why I never show my high school year book to anyone. I mean NO one. In fact, I think I finally threw that junk out a few years ago along with a few other incredibly embarrassing photos of my teenage days. Like most Latinas, I unfortunately went through my fair share of ghetto fabulous beauty days. You know what I'm talking about. That's right, the deep, dark lip liners with clear gloss, long acrylic nails, and my least favorite of all–pencil thin brows! Ugh!

But as horrifying as these trends may have been, we can't deny that we've all tried them! Gel on baby hairs
Just because J.Lo did it doesn' t make it cute ladies!
Dark lip liner
Seriously, I think EVERY SINGLE Latina out there has tried dark lip liner on a nude pout. Why we thought this looked good I'll never understand.
Ghetto acrylic nails
Listen, they were only 20 bucks in the hood and everyone had them!
Multiple earrings
This is nothing compared to some of the multiple ear piercings my homegirls had.
Pencil thin eyebrows
Not even Christian Aguilera was able to pull this chola look off.
Bra strap headbands
They might seem tacky now, but bra strap headbands were the thing back in the day. They really helped pull back those pesky pelitos by the hairline too!
Beauty mark piercing
This piercing was crazy to me back then and it's still crazy to me now.

Blood red hair was the new blonde for years!
