Oh chica, while there's nothing wrong with a little summer fun, if you're not careful it will unfortunately cost you your hair. Spending time in the sun, chlorine, and salt water eventually wreaks havoc on hair, especially dry-prone curls. But don't worry, I got you covered! Luckily there are quick and easy ways to restore and repair summer-damaged tresses that don't require a visit to the hair salon. Check out a few of my tips below to help get those curls back in healthy shape ASAP!
Repair with moisture

Anyone with curly hair knows that dryness is our number one issue. This is especially the case during the summertime when you’re spending hours under the sun and constantly exposing your tresses to chlorine and salt water. Try using an intense hydrating mask weekly to help bring back moisture to your locks. I like Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Hair Mask ($32). It’s infused with essential oils that work to deeply nourish hair and undo damage.
Do a glaze treatment

Salt water and chlorine can cause color-treated hair to fade. Restore your color with a gloss or glaze treatment. It will cost you a lot less than getting a regular dye job and it also helps boost shine. Try Sebastian Professionals Ammonia-Free Colorizing Gloss Treatment ($32).
Use a leave-in

When it comes to repairing curls, moisture is key, chica! Use a leave-in conditioner daily to help prevent dryness and breakage. Try Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner ($20).
Get a trim

Like it or not, the only way to get rid of split ends is with a trim. Seal ends with a nourishing treatment, like Aussie Split End Protector ($4).
Try an oil treatment

Boost your hair from dry to shiny, with a hot-oil treatment, like VO5 Hot Oil Therapy Intense Moisturizing Treatment ($4). Think deep conditioner times five! Believe me your rizos will thank you!
