Use a hair conditioning mask: I find I struggle less with split ends when I'm consistent with my hair conditioning masks. Try apply one at least once a week to help prevent breakage and to keep hair healthy and moisturized. I love the Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask ($7). It leaves my hair super soft and shiny. It also makes detangling a breeze!
Try a split end treatment: Apply a balm size amount of treatment to your palms and glide it over split ends before styling. I recommend Carol's Daughter Monoi Reparing Split End Sealer ($25). It leave hair looking freshly cut.
Rinse with cool water: My stylist has always suggested I rinse my hair off with cool water. It helps seal your hair's outer layer and leaves it shiny too.
Use a wide-tooth comb: Wide-tooth combs don't just make detangling easier, but they prevents breakage, splits, and frizz. Perfect especially for those with curly or wavy hair!
Protect from heat: Heat-styling is one of the quickest and easiest ways to cause split ends. If you're going to use hot tools, make sure to always apply a heat protective product, like Morrocanoil Heat Styling Protection ($28) before styling.
Take vitamins: Foods that are rich in biotin helps promote stronger, thicker, and healthier hair. Try incorporating more greens, lentils, or walnuts into your diet. Or take biotin supplements like Nature Made Biotin Softgels ($10). It makes all the difference!
