A 13-year-old boy crippled by polio has defied all odds by mastering walking on his hands__ after losing function in his legs before he could even learn how to walk. The Chinese boy, Deng Zongcheng, was diagnosed with the condition not long after he was born and to afford the medications he needed, his parents were forced to work in a city miles away from their rural town.
The family hales from a rural area in the Henan province of China and Zongcheng's parents only see him a few times a year due to their need to work to pay for his medical needs. Despite his disability, the teen learned how to get around in creative ways and now at the age of 13, has mastered a skill that most people can't do!
The amazing story as told by the U.K.'s Daily Mail, describes how the boy learned how to crawl when he was a toddler and then by the age of six learned how to walk on his hands. At the age of 12, he was climbing trees with ease and although his condition sets him apart from other kids his age, he's impressed them and adults alike.

His disability also meant that finding a school that would accept him would be a challenge. He was rejected from a number of schools until he received a scholarship for a nearby school. The amazing experience taught his classmates how to care for him and has earned him many friends who are always more than willing to help him.
The teen considers himself very lucky despite his inability to walk, but his classmates are now in the process of raising money to pay for a treatment that could potentially help Zongcheng walk one day.
What a touching and heartwarming story! It's great to see that these kids have accepted this boy for who he is and free of judgment. Most students would pick on someone different, but these kids have embraced the differences and learned about nurturing and caring for one another. I hope Zongcheng does have the chance to walk again one day, but he's quite the inspiration for other kids and adults in the same predicament.
