There are already a slew of reality shows meant to find your soulmate such as The Bachelor and The Bachelorette…and now there's one for single pregnant women? The show called Pregnant and Dating will debut on June 1 on We TV and will follow five moms-to-be as they make their way through the dating scene.
Now I know what you're thinking … isn't THIS a bit strange to explain to a man you could potentially date? Turns out these women have no shame in it as each lady goes through her own trials and tribulations as caught on camera.
The women featured are Kiesha, Shana, Melissa, Megan, and Rachel and the show is filmed in Los Angeles and North Carolina. It uses the tag line: "Not even pregnancy will keep these women out of the game."

Some of the ladies have kept their pregnancies secrets while others have had support from their families. For example, Keisha is pregnant with a friend's baby who is unaware that he's the father, while Melissa underwent artificial insemination and is prepared to be a single mom. And of course, a topic as touchy as dating while pregnant has stirred up some controversy.
According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, a mommy website called Mommy Noire criticized the show explaining that what these women were doing is irresponsible. "If you can't wait nine months to focus on delivering a healthy baby, and not waste time looking for a man, all while being knocked up by the next man … then something is wrong," they wrote.
Others say the mother's main concern should be her baby and not about her love life. Only time will tell how the eight-part series will be received by the public. The release for the show best describes it as "rocky and redeeming," which is no surprise!
I personally think this is an all time low for reality TV shows. Given much of the ones on TV right now are crap, but really … pregnant women!?? First of all I don't know what man would be comfortable dating a woman who is carrying another man's kid, and second, this just screams desperation since the guy will probably think off the bat that this woman is looking to settle down ASAP. I'd understand if they focused the show AFTER the babies were born, but during the pregnancy is a bit sketchy. Who knows what weirdos with pregnancy fetishes these women will encounter!
