As crazy as most people may find this naming method to be, it works if your baby displays that telenovela type personality. Although it may be a bit too soon to determine that, they may grow into their name. That can either be a good or a bad thing depending on what you choose to name them–telenovelas always have a villain we love to hate.

Gabriela: In La Patrona, Aracely Arámbula plays a single mom working in a mine and empowers mothers everywhere trying to make a living for their children. This is the perfect name for your newborn daughter–and at the same time teach her a little something about girl power!

Refugio: Victoria Ruffo, aka the queen of telenovelas, plays Refugio in Corona de Lágrimas. This is another self-empowering woman who builds herself from the ground up. Your little girl is sure to grow up to be a strong woman if you name her after this character.

Jesus: Fernando Colunga plays Jesus in the telenovela  Porque el Amor Manda and guarantees that your little man will be as hard working as him. Jesus tries to work hard as he tries to become a legalized U.S. citizen and to help raise his daughter.

Alma: Played by Blanca Soto in Porque el Amor Manda, Alma is a perfect name if your daughter plans on being business minded like the character in the telenovela. Your little hard worker couldn't have a better name but just be careful that she doesn't become too anti-social.

Rogelio: Erick Elias plays Rogelio on Porque el Amor Manda, is ideal for your son if you sense he is already the stubborn type. Rogelio is a little selfish and can be rude, so it's best to keep reminding your child of manners and being kind to others so they don't turn out as skeevy as Rogelio.

Ela: Kate del Castillo recently stars in the webnovela Arranque de Pasión as Ela. Ela is a badass as a professional race car driver and is the perfect role model for any little girl looking to break barriers.

Checo: Carlos Ponce plays checo on Arranque de Pasión as Ela's love interest. If your little man is named after him, he is sure to be a total heartbreaker.

Pablo: Although most aren't proud of the idea of naming their kids after a drug dealer as prominent as Pablo Escobar in Pablo Escobar: El Patrón del Mal, a name such as Pablo is powerful that it's perfect for a son who is destined to make his mark on the world–his POSITIVE mark.
