I
In a strange turn of events, a Chicago woman welcomed a new baby in her vehicle, right near the scene of a fatal car crash.
On Wednesday morning, Hector Morales and fiancée Kathryn Engel were on their way to the hospital when they got stuck in a traffic jam caused by an accident that had occurred right up the road. Though they tried to wait it out, Engel's contractions soon grew in intensity and become more frequent until the couple knew they had to take action.
"She said 'Hector, I'm not going to make it' and I'm like 'Are you sure? We're almost there.' And she says 'I'm not going to make it, pull over right here,' " Morales told FOX32 of the stressful ordeal.
Morales pulled into a gas station and called 911. With the help of an operator over the phone, he delivered the couple's second child, a baby boy named Aidan. Emergency crews arrived shortly after and transported the family to the hospital. Thankfully, both mom and baby are safe and healthy.

Wow, talk about a crazy series of events. I bet Engel never thought she would be giving birth not only in the middle of a traffic jam, but also just down the street from a terrible car accident. I'm just glad that both Engel and her son are okay and that the dad was able to bravely step up and do what needed to be done for a safe delivery.
Congrats to the couple and welcome to the world baby Aidan!
