Lose weight with just 3 minutes of exercise a week!

What would you do if I told you that the ONLY exercise you need in order to lose weight and improve your health is just three minutes a WEEK? I bet you'd tell me I'm crazy. I mean, seriously, even I think I'm crazy as I consider this possibility but, well, it's TRUE! Researchers are claiming that, when it comes to losing weight in 2013, all you need is three minutes of huffing-and-puffing in your gym clothes!

According to the U.K. Daily Mail, scientists are now claiming that "just a few 30-second bursts of intense exercise, amounting to only three minutes a week, could deliver the health and weight-loss benefits of hours of lengthy, conventional regimes." Since most of us don't keep our New Year's Resolutions to get fit because we set the bar too high (which was just, DUH, proven by the Journal of Clinical Psychology), scientists are now saying that this much more achievable plan is even better:

Exert yourself for 30 seconds of VERY intense exercise (the kind that makes your face red and leaves you gasping for air), then collapse and rest for about 60 seconds. Repeat this three times and, well, you're ALL DONE! Doesn't that sound kind of great and easy?

I'm not a huge lover of exercise (no matter how much I try), so this plan actually sounds pretty good to me. If you're like me and either don't love the gym or barely ever have time for the recommended 30-minutes, 3 times a week, of moderate exercise, then intense exercise for just a few minutes a few times a week may just be the answer. At least, that's certainly what I'm doing tonight!
