This week's recall is one ALL parents need to pay close attention to. The reason being there are two from the SAME company. The Consumers Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling Dream on Me's baby bath seat and their bed rails. The reason? The bath seat has caused a little girl to almost drown, and the bed rail can separate from the crib causing the baby to become trapped between the mattress and the rail–risking suffocation.
These recalls raise more concern because the company already had two other reported ones for their Bistro high chair and Happy Swing II. Dream on Me urges consumers to immediately stop using these products along with referring them to their website to get further information on the matter. To find out what other steps you should be taking, read on for complete coverage on the recall.
It's shocking to see that this baby product brand is still in business after the number of recalls they have faced. How does a company have so many faulty items? It sounds like they don't triple check them before sending them out to distributors.
The Dream on Me bath seats being recalled are the Baby Bath Seat, Ultra 2 in 1 Infant Bath Tub & Toddler Bath Seat and Niagra Baby Bath Seat. The bath seats failed to meet federal safety standards, and lacks stability. The items had been sold on Amazon.com and Wayfair.com between July 2012 and September 2012. The producer is now telling parents to stop using the seats they may own and to contact them to get a free replacement bath seat.
