When it comes to makeup, I'm all about playing up my eyes. I can easily go a few days without a drop of foundation or even a sweep of lipstick. But very rarely would you find me without any eyeliner or mascara on (unless I'm feeling lazy of course). A winged cat-eye and two coats of my favorite lengthening mascara is usually what you'll catch me sporting. But believe it or not, it was only recently that I learned how to really use __liquid eyeline__r.

I had tried them all, gel-liners, cream liners and traditional liquid eyeliners and no matter how hard I practiced, I could never get the precise application I was looking for. Pencil eyeliners were always a lot easier to use, but they didn't give me the sleek finish you can only get with a liquid liner.
But about a year or so ago, I discovered precise liquid eyeliners. Think Sharpie markers, but for your eyes! These babies make it super easy for anyone to achieve a perfect cat-eye. Ever since I found out about these magic eyeliner markers, I've never looked back. But with all the beauty brands recently catching on to precision ink liners, I began to wonder if it was something really worth splurging on.
So this week I tested out my favorite liquid liner, the Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen ($22) against the more cost-efficient, Maybelline Eyestudio Master Precise Liquid Ink Pen Liner ($8). I have to admit, I absolutely love both of them. But read on to learn about my results!
Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen is not only incredibly easy to use (even for beginners), but also quite versatile. The precision ink tip allows you to quickly and precisely create different lines and styles. It's everything I ever wanted in a liquid eyeliner. Best part? It doesn't smear or flake. I'm a contact lenses wearer, so I have a bad habit of always rubbing my eyes. And even so, this liner has always stayed put for hours!
Maybelline Eyestudio Master Precise Liquid Ink Pen Liner gave me better results than I had expected. Just like the Smashbox one, this liner was also very easy to use. I even played around with it to see if I could achieve other designs and styles, and I did without the mess or the excess. I love how this liner is also safe for contact lenses users and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes.
What's my verdict? I have to say, I don't really have one. Both liners gave me almost the exact same results. If you're looking for a cheaper buy, I'd say go with the Maybelline option. You'll definitely save at least 10 bucks. But even so, I still feel that the Smashbox liner is worth every penny!
