The Epicurious Recipes app is free and has a whole section dedicated to Thanksgiving, filled with nearly 200 recipes from Gourmet and Bon Appétit magazines. If you like picking your dishes out a bunch of options, this app can provide you with the variety you're looking. It has a ton of turkey recipes, like Clementine-Salted Turkey with Redeye Gravy and Sage Butter-Roasted Turkey, and  also provide you with vegetarian-friendly holiday recipes.

If you're just starting out in the kitchen and find too many recipe options overwhelming (like me!), then Chow is the app for you. Instead of thousands upon thousands of recipes, there's only nine…and they cover all the basics of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, (like roasted turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, etc)…which means you'll have Turkey Day covered. And it's free!

One of the things I hate most about cooking is that I'm terrible at math…which makes figuring out the ounces, cups, pints and quarts a nightmare. That's where this app comes in handy! Ratio acts as an ingredient calendar, so if you have more or less of an item that a recipe calls for, it'll adjust the measures accordingly. It costs 4.99, but you'll probably use it all the time. Problem solved!

Baking with Dorie

This app, regularly $12.99 and currently marked down for the holidays for $7.99, is well worth the price. With the use of CulinView, an iPad layout that gives visual instructions instead of text recipe, people can follow Chef Dorie Greenspan as she demonstrates how to make the perfect dessert on video or through photographs.

Harvest App

Do you ever really know if you're picking out the best watermelon? For $1.99, you can get help from Harvest, an app that guides you in picking the freshest, ripest, and healthiest produce for the season.

WineStein

If you're never quite sure what wine to buy or which will go best with your meals, this free app will act as your personal vino expert. All you have to do is choose the main ingredients in your dishes and sauces and it will generate a "meal DNA," which you can then use to find the perfect wine match.
