Real-life Sleeping Beauty slept for 64 days straight, missed Thanksgiving & Christmas! (VIDEO)

I love sleeping in on the weekends. I mean, I especially love having long weekends, like Thanksgiving coming up, to catch up on my sleep. That's probably not what 17-year-old Nicole Delien meant to do when she fell asleep for a whole 64 days. The real-life Sleeping Beauty has just been diagnosed with a rare sleeping disorder which makes her sleep 18 to 19 hours a day. She even slept through Thanksgiving and Christmas!

No matter how much I love sleep, I can't even imagine sleeping for that long and missing out of all of my family's celebrations. The Pennsylvania teen has a sleep disorder called Kleine-Levine, also known as the "Sleeping Beauty Syndrome." She will actually wake up briefly during her sleep spells in a confused state just to eat and go to the bathroom, but then falls back asleep.

The worst of the matter is that it took forever for the girl to even be diagnosed. After appearing on The Jeff Probst Show to promote awareness of the rare disorder, mom Vicki Delien told reporters that it "took several hospital trips to figure out what's been affecting her," according to The Daily Mail. Other symptoms for the disorder "include disorientation, hallucination, child-like behavior, binge-eating and periods of hyper-sexuality when awake."

The good news, though, is at least the family now knows what's wrong. It's really sad that Nicole missed her family's first trip to Disney World, too, but she did get to meet Katy Perry backstage after she missed her first opportunity to see her in concert and Katy had Nicole visit her backstage at another performance. That's really sweet of the singer and I'm really hoping that Nicole won't miss this Thanksgiving and Christmas–that would just be too cruel.
