Latin Grammys 2012: How to get this glamorous side-swept hair style

Last night I was invited to attend the 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year Gala in honor of legendary Brazilian singer and composer, Caetano Veloso. Since L'Oreal Paris was the offical cosmetic sponsor for the 2012 Latin Grammys, I was invited as a VIP guest. I obviously knew I had to look my absolute best, so I decided to hit up The Cristophe Salon at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino for a red-carpet worthy makeover. Professional hairstylist Eric Campbell created a chic and modern side-swept hairstyle (pictured here) to complement my dress–which was low-cut in the back. The look was voluminous and super sexy! Check out a few of his easy-to-follow tips below to recreate this look at home!

Step 1: Campbell began by taking 1-inch sections of my already blown out hair and wrapping it around a 1.25-inch curling iron; you can try the Hot Tools Tourmaline Cermaic Curling Iron ($35). He than ran his fingers to break up the curls and create a softer look.

Step 2: Then he took sections of hair from the front and crown and back-combed (teased) using a small wide-tooth comb to create dramatic volume at the top.

Step 3: Next, he applied a flexible and strong hold hairspray, like L'Oréal Paris Satin Strong Hold Elnett Hairspray$15), to my curls and scrunched for a textured effect.

Step 4: My hair was then swept to one side and secured with bobby pins. Campbell  took the upper section of my hair and pined it up higher to create the illusion of layers.

Step 5: Campbell gently teased again from the middle of my hair to the scalp for some extra volume, then used a flat boar bristle brush to smooth the top.

Step 6: He applied less than teeny-tiny amount of Kerastase Elixir Hair Oil ($54) to smooth away flyaways and amp up the shine. An extra spritz of hairspray was used to hold the style in place.
