Lots of dads have a need for speed, but few have gone as far as Colin Furze has to get it! The British plumber is making headlines after he set out to break a Guinness World Record by creating what he calls the "world's fastest pram."
Furze, who says he was determined to "rock the world of child care" after becoming a dad, basically created a stroller on steroids by adding 10 horsepower and four gears to its basic features. But Furze didn't complete the project (which cost him about $750) just to get places faster. His real goal is to set a world record this Sunday by breaking the previous holder's speed of 30 miles per hour.

By the looks of the video below, that shouldn't be too hard to do. This thing looks SUPER fast! Don't worry though–Furze knows his creation is not exactly safe and has made it a point to assure everybody that he has never and would never let his child actually ride in it. Instead, he just wants to show it off for inspirational purposes. "The things I make are made with tools that proper engineers would laugh at but I'm proof you don't need an expensive lathe and huge welder to create something amazing," he wrote in the YouTube description.
If Furze wins, this would be his THIRD time breaking a world record (his two previous ones were for the biggest bonfire and the longest motorbike).
Wow! I have to admit, I think this looks kind of awesome. I know it's not practical and could never actually be used as a functioning stroller, but as long as he's not really allowing his child to use it, then why not? Besides, while his son won't actually get to ride the "megapram," seeing his dad create all these crazy inventions is sure to help him develop some imagination!
