Selena Gomez was all glammed-up yesterday along with fellow co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine at the photocall for their new movie Spring Breakers during the 69th Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy. The 19-year old star looked mature and sophisticated in a Dolce & Gabbana embroidered lace cocktail dress and strappy Jimmy Choo sandals. But as much as I loved her outfit, I couldn't take my eyes off that gorgeous, messy bun! I liked that the look was very elegant yet still easy. Prep: The first step is to prep the hair and create volume before styling. Use a volumizing mousse, like Redken Full Frame 07 Protective Volumizing Mousse and apply throughout damp hair.
Dry: Blow dry strands using a round boar bristle brush. For thick, long strands try Goody THICKFIX Boar and Nylon Bristle Hot Round brush. Section hair and wrap hair three-quarters of the way around the brush barrel and blow dry. Once hair is blown out take the tail of a rattail comb and create a side part.
Style: Using a 1.5-inch curling iron, take sections of hair and create loose waves. Then loosely gather hair into a low bun and make sure to keep a few pieces in the front loose for texture. Secure the bun with a clear elastic and pull a little for a loosen look.
Finish: Try a strong but flexible hairspray, like L'Oréal Elnett Satin Hairspray in Strong Hold to finish off the look!
