OMG. I'm seriously baffled. I'm REALLY looking forward to this new movie starring Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, What to Expect When You're Expecting. I mean, come on–two of my favorite Latina superstars are headlining the film, the trailer looks hilarious and I have two words for you: Rodrigo Santoro.
So, I have to share my total dissapointment when I woke up to devour all the red carpet premiere photos and I saw what two of my go-to style icons were wearing. Chicas, what were you thinking?! You know what I WAS expecting? Way better fashion choices, from BOTH of you.
Let's discuss…
Jennifer Lopez went inexplicably goth for the premiere of the light-hearted parenting comedy, in a gown that would have been way more suited for the recent MET gala than for this red carpet.
Decked out in champagne-colored (SO OVER this hue, by the way!) satiny gown by Maria Lucia Hohan she accessorized with Norman Silverman diamond bangles and stackable diamond rings. Ok, so I LOVED the accessories, but everything else felt a little too much for the occasion. I get it, J.Lo is a glamazon and I totally respect her for it, but there is a time and a place for everything.
Take for example, her super dark lip. I LOVE this trend (learn how to copy this look!) but again, at a premiere for a romantic comedy with a goofy ensemble cast, this just seemed a little forced.
But you know what wasn't forced at all? Cameron Diaz looking like she literally stumbled upon the premiere to her own film in a dress she just threw on and some sexy bed-head. Seriously?! She looks like she couldn't care less what she was wearing and while I 100% admire her carefree attitude and California-girl vibe, she probably should've put more thought into her outfit.
It's like the most boring, blackest, non-descript dress I could ever think of. Her outfit is even missing her trademark whimsy. Throw me a bone here Cameron! A bright turquoise pump, a red clutch–something, anything–just show me you care…
You know who got it 100% right last night? Anna Kendrick.
She looks perfectly glamorous in her sparkly number. The mini-dress length and old-fashion cut of the dress, mixed with those adorable shoes, made her pitch perfect for the premiere.
What did you think about their fashion choices last night?
