Today is the first day of the weight loss challenge and I have to admit: I'm a little scared.
Why? Well, because I'm going to be writing about this every day and I don't want to let anyone down–mostly myself. There's a lot going on in my life right now, started this awesome new job (wink, wink), I'm moving across the country, I'm a relative newlywed, we have a new puppy–I have a LOT on my plate.
So why do I want to lose weight? Well, because I am used to being fit and this whole 15 lbs extra thing is NOT going to fly for me. No one told me the "Freshman 15" applied to being married. I'm just not having it.

So, I'm putting my foot down and joining this weight loss challenge. Today, I made sure to eat breakfast (a Luna bar) and got a really healthy whole wheat, sun-dried tomato and mozzarella sandwich with a small soup for lunch. I'v managed to avoid the sugary beverages that keep my awake for most of the day (I only had 2 cups of coffee today, woohoo) but I know that the second I get home, my willpower will probably diminish.
Why? Well because my husband is a damn good cook. Seriously, I have my own Latino Jamie Oliver (I mean, do you see how cute he is?) waiting for me every night when I walk in the door. OK, now I know this probably makes you hate me, so go ahead–hate away.
Alright, now that we've got the hate out of the way, let me just say–sometimes it sucks. Because OF COURSE I want that Spanish tapas plate overflowing with manchego and chorizo he so lovingly prepared, double duh that I'm going to seriously enjoy the great glass of wine he's poured for me, but seriously, this sh#t is gonna make me fat!
So, I'm heading home tonight determined to not pig out and I plan on waking up tomorrow morning early so I can squeeze in a 30-minute workout. I'll let you know how that works out in my next post!
