Uh-oh! Moms, now you have to watch your kids a little closer: if you have a feisty toddler who likes to practice his or her young stealth skills by snooping all around the house, you may be in just a little bit of trouble.
Almost 1 million Push N' Snap cabinet locks are being recalled. Apparently these child safety locks aren't so safe, since 140 kids ranging in age from 9 months to 5 years were able to get these locks open (and scare the pants off their parents in the meantime).

After 3 of the kids ingested house cleaner and detergent due to faulty locks and were rushed to the emergency room (but have since been released), Mommyish reports on what the company decided:
"In total, the company is looking down at 200 reports of the child safety locks being damaged or failing to secure the intended cabinet. The China-made Push N' Snap locks in question were manufactured between January 2004 and November 2010 and include the model numbers 48391 and 48442."

Although it's unfortunate that a few of the kids ended up in the hospital, the ones that helped discover this big problem may have saved the lives of countless others. Now that this product is being recalled, at least parents can be made aware of how to protect their little frisky sneaks—with some new Child Safety locks.
