Moms, would you ever enroll your kids in baby yoga? What if it involved flipping the baby in the air? Yeah, we were shocked too! Controversy has broken out over a recent story of a Russian yoga teacher who flings babies over her head as part of a bizarre and scary "baby yoga" routine.
Lena Fokina practices her eccentric yoga moves on babies as young as two weeks old. Each session can last up to five minutes, during which the baby is flipped, swung, and spun around in the air. Though her methods leaves most of the babies screaming, crying or vomiting, Fokina still insists her methods are safe and even healthy for infants.
"It's very good for babies and not dangerous at all. Some babies cry at first, but they begin to enjoy it," Fokina told Mail Online. According to her, the method was originally developed to "cure and correct the health of children having muscular or skeletal problems" but is also suitable for healthy children.

Fokina's seminar "Parenting the Deliberate Way" originated in Dahab, Egypt, where parents paid approximately $390 dollars to have their kids treated by her.
"The children often turn out to be early readers, singers, talkers, swimmers," Fokina said. "It also makes their hands stronger."

Um…am I the only one incredibly disturbed by this? I don't care what the supposed benefits are; Fokina's practices are clearly dangerous. In some cases, she flips the baby over head while holding on to only one of their arms or legs! What?! How is that healthy? I'm all for trying new and unique techniques that promote your baby's health, but to spend almost $400 dollars for your kid to be thrown around by a stranger seems crazy and more than a little extreme.
