22 Celebs who are proud supporters of breastfeeding in public & have shared it with the world

It's time to celebrate for moms everywhere! Breastfeeding is officially legal in all 50 states–and that's good news for everyone. With Idaho and Utah joining the rest of the states and passing the necessary laws and bills, feeding your baby in public is finally legal all over the United States.

Idaho and Utah were the last two states without laws to protect nursing moms who are breastfeeding in public. The legislation around the country says: "A woman may breastfeed in any place of public accommodation … irrespective of whether the woman's breast is uncovered during or incidental to the breastfeeding."

There was some pushback from Utah's Republican Representative Curt Webb who had an issue with the wording. "This seems to say you don't have to cover up at all," Webb reportedly said in February, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. "I'm not comfortable with that, I'm just not. It's really in your face." So the second part was removed in the state, and it now reads: "A woman may breastfeed in any place of public accommodation."

Even if it's been legal everywhere else, women have constantly been criticized for feeding their children when in front of other people. Even in the year 2018 someone breastfeeding their baby while at work is considered newsworthy. Model Mara Martin recently caused quite a stir after she breastfed her daughter, Aria, on the runway during Miami Swim Week in July.

Celebrity moms including Gisele Bündchen have been open about their support for breastfeeding. Some have openly shared photos of themselves breastfeeding their children on social media.
