Weeks after Perez Hilton shocked the world by announcing he is now a dad, the blogger is officially introducing his son, Mario Armando Lavandeira III, to the world.
Hilton recently told the Los Angeles Times that his decision to become a single father had long since been in the making.
"I knew it was going to happen this way because boyfriends and husbands may come and go, but kids are forever," he said, adding that he has had only one serious relationship in the past five years. "I didn't want to keep waiting."
So last year, the openly gay 35-year-old found an egg donor and a surrogate to help make his dreams of parenthood come true. He managed to keep the whole process a secret from everyone but his mother, sister, lawyer, and business manager until his son was born on February 16, a full month ahead of his due date.
Since then, Hilton has quickly become a proud papa, sharing intimate and heartwarming family shots that show him holding his son and looking happier than ever. Aww, I love how quickly he's adjusting to being a dad. He seems really content … and though it's probably overwhelming at times, I'm sure he's getting help from his baby's abuela!
