SEE: $100 Grilled cheese has GOLD in it + other ridiculously pricey foods

How much would you pay for one amazing grilled cheese?! Most of us probably would say no more than a few bucks, especially since it's so easy for anyone to make at home. But one Chicago restaurant is looking to revamp your image of the classic grilled cheese with its new limited edition of the dish … which costs a cool $100.

I know what you're thinking–100 bucks for a grilled cheese? What's in there, gold? Well, actually, there is.

The exclusive, ultra cheesy culinary creation, is being served now at Deca, a restaurant located inside Chicago's Ritz Carlton hotel. The restaurant brought out the dish just for the month of April, which just happens to be National Grilled Cheese Month. And to be honest, it sounds totally delicious.

According to Time mag, the sandwich consists of artisan country sourdough bread, Iberico ham, 100-year-old aged balsamic vinegar, white truffle aioli, foie gras, and a sunny side up duck egg. The kicker? The 40-year aged Wisconsin cheddar is infused with 24-carat gold flakes. Crazy, right?

But while the price tag is a little steep for most people, general manager John Gurgone says the restaurant has already sold around 10 or 12 of them. Guess they must REALLY like grilled cheese!

And this is hardly the first restaurant to put a big price tag on an old dish. Check out some more of the most expensive dishes in the world below:
