This morning, one of the first things I read was New York Magazine's essay on why pumpkin is the new bacon. The author argued that just a few years ago, pumpkin was not a very popular ingredient. Now, though, it seems to be everywhere. In fact, it's "the new bacon" in terms of just how used (or, some may say, OVERused) it has become.
